The Perth Hills is part of the Darling Range

– a beautiful region of jarrah and marri forest, wildflowers,

tranquil bushwalking trails, abundant native fauna, creeks and waterfalls.

The Perth Hills.

As much a state of mind as a destination

.

Our region has five national parks, over 30 well-marked walk trails and more scenic lookouts than you can point a walking stick at.

The northern terminus for the world-famous Bibbulmun Track is also in the Hills at Kalamunda.

For a comprehensive guide to some inspiring walks go to

The "Swan Valley and Perth Hills Trails Discovery Guide" is available and contains detailed information on our local walks as well as regional trails.

Copies of the Guide can be purchased from the Shire of Kalamunda, Kalamunda Visitor Centre and are also available from www.perthtrails.com.au.

The maps are free to download and take with you on your next walk through the Perth Hills

Explore it...did you know?

When it comes to fauna, very few places in Australia offer such a diverse range of native species in their natural environment so close to a metropolitan area.
The Perth Hills region is home to 30 species of trigger plant-which is better represented than anywhere else in the World.

The carnivorous sundew is another interesting Hills resident, with an exceptionally large number of species-13 at last count-occurring here.
